Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to convey the structural characteristics, strategic positioning within global logistics networks, and developmental process of the Turkish logistics sector to students. Within the scope of the course, by analyzing the infrastructure of road, maritime, and rail transport in Turkey, sectoral regulations, the operational structures of forwarder and transport enterprises, and domestic e-logistics applications, it is aimed to enable students to evaluate contemporary issues and opportunities in the national logistics market.

Course Content

The content of the course consists of an overview of the Turkish logistics sector, the dynamics of the Turkish transport industry, and the applied analysis of different transport modes (road, maritime, rail) in Turkey. Within this scope, national road transport regulations, freight forwarding management in Turkey, the impact of customer portals on the efficiency of cargo operations, and Turkey-oriented e-commerce and e-logistics applications are examined. Additionally, national problems encountered in transportation management and contemporary issues showing sectoral diversity, such as halal logistics, are addressed through case studies.
