Objectives of the Course

The main objective of this course is to transfer the structural characteristics of global air transportation airport operations and air cargo logistics management processes to students. It is aimed that students gain the competence to make strategic decisions that will ensure speed security and cost optimization in the air supply chain by analyzing national and international civil aviation regulations.

Course Content

This course begins with the history of civil aviation and the basic economic dynamics of air transportation. Flight network models in passenger and cargo transportation airport infrastructures and ground handling management are examined in detail. In the following weeks the role of international organizations like IATA and ICAO air cargo operations dangerous goods transportation and freight pricing strategies are discussed. In the final parts of the course air supply chain integration digitalization in aviation and sustainability applications are debated presenting a sectoral vision.
