Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to convey the principles of international transportation management, the strategic importance of road freight transport in global trade, and sectoral business processes to students. Within the scope of the course, it aims to enable students to acquire competence in defining and solving legal, administrative, and operational problems in the international road transport sector by examining international transport organizations, conventions, transit permits, and operational documentation processes.

Course Content

The content of the course encompasses an introduction to international transportation management, the role of road freight transport in global trade and logistics, and the analysis of sectoral stakeholders. Within this framework, international transport organizations, legal conventions (such as CMR), the TIR system, transit and CEMT permit management, and modern equipment and documentation processes used in transportation are examined. Additionally, international routes in road transport, Ro-Ro port integrations, intermodal transportation, information systems used in logistics, and sustainability policies in road transport are addressed through case studies and reviews of sample operational documents (such as TIR carnets and customs declarations).
