Objectives of the Course

Acquiring fundamental knowledge of retail management. Establishing the relationships between retail marketing and other business functions such as human resources, finance, and purchasing. Addressing the elements of the marketing mix from the perspective of the retail sector. Examining topics specific to the retail industry, such as location selection and store atmosphere. Covering online retailing within the context of multi-channel retailing. Emphasizing the close relationship between technology and retailing in the areas of online retailing, customer relationship management, and supply chain management.

Course Content

Topics covered in the course include establishing and maintaining customer relationships in retailing, retail businesses classified by ownership and store type, retailing via the web and non-traditional methods, understanding consumer behavior, and trade area analysis and store location selection.
