Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to analyse and make explanations about social groups and in-group relations by the concepts of social psychology, to approach human relations from intergroup relations perspective, and apply social psychology concepts and theories to intergroup conflicts and solutions

Course Content

Social groups, in-group process: constraction of norms, compliance, minority effect, in-group position and social power, communication and leadership, leadership theories, desicion making processes insocial groups. Intergroup process: prejudice and discrimination; social identity theory, self categorization theory,terror management theory, social relativism theory, just-world beliefs, system justification theory, intergroup conflicts and resolution
