Objectives of the Course

To provide students with an understanding of the political and literary developments between 1908 and 1923 by understanding the important period of Turkish Literature. To understand some ideas that emerged in this period and affect the Republican period.

Course Content

Intellectual movements during the period of National Literature, the examination of the literary tendencies emerging from these movements through works, the effects of National Literature on 20th century Turkish Literature; developments in Turkish Literature up to 50 years in Republican Period; examination of important works emerging in prose, poetry and theater; to be introduced with distinctive features of important literary figures of these periods.

An overview of literary works written in the period of National Literature

Turkish Poetry during the Republican Period (poets who are poetry trends and mythology).

Turkish poem during the Republican period (Aesthetic poetry concept and influence of literary movements in poetry) (Midterm exam)

Poets and writers who represent contemporary Turkish literature; the effects of period artists on Turkish society (Garip poetry, Hisar poets Independent poetry).
