Objectives of the Course

To teach the phonetic features, accent system and intonation order of Turkish.  

Course Content

Accurate breathing and sound exercises; Phonetic structure and rules of Turkish; Turkish intonation, accent and other features; narration techniques and exercises on style within the framework of articulation; non-verbal communication (body language), personal image and official and social protocol according to the rules of presentation and speaking exercises in front of the community

1.Produces the right sounds thanks to the right sound and breath
2.Knows the phonetic features of Turkish, the knuckling points of the sounds and pronounces these sounds correctly.
3.Makes intonation and accents accurate and in place.
4.Supports effective speaking with body language.
5.Use presentation techniques according to official and social protocol rules.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
The need to speak correctly and effectively. Criteria for speech to have these features. Right and wrong examples, applications (determination of students' speech properties).
Week 2 - Theoretical
Proper breathing and sound exercises.
Week 3 - Theoretical
Phonetic structure and rules of Turkish.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Intonation, accent and other features of Turkish.
Week 5 - Theoretical
Familial and consonant articulation places, exercises and practices. Famous and consonant harmony rules. Sound phenomena (analogy, derivation, fall, ulama) Examples and applications.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Common mistakes made during conversation. Impromptuity, unplannedness, emotion control (excessive excitement, fear, flurry), inability to adjust speech speed, wrong breathing, sound swallowing, speech disorders ... Examples, solutions, applications.
Week 7 - Theoretical
Expression techniques and exercises on style.
Week 8 - Theoretical
Expression techniques and exercises on style. (Midterm exam)
Week 9 - Theoretical
Expression techniques and exercises on style.
Week 10 - Theoretical
Expression techniques and exercises on style.
Week 11 - Theoretical
Preliminary preparation for accurate and effective speech. Physical conditions, Body language. Personal care and grace.
Week 12 - Theoretical
Preliminary preparation for accurate and effective speech. Scientific equipment and planned preparation. Stress and time management.
Week 13 - Theoretical
Rules of speaking in front of the community and on the microphone.
Week 14 - Theoretical
Examples of the most common mistakes made in the press and media organizations and examination of these mistakes. Being able to recognize the wrong. Exemplary poetry, articles, reading exercises.
