Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills to recognize information security threats, apply protection methods and develop safe digital behaviors with basic concepts such as information ethics, law and digital citizenship.

Information systems, information ethics, history of information crimes, information law, forensic informatics, digital citizenship, secure internet, information security threats, protection of information assets, password security, social engineering, social media and mobile device security

Learning Outcomes
1.Understand ethical and legal responsibilities in the world of informatics by defining the concepts of informatics ethics, law and digital citizenship.
2.Discusses the methods of protecting individual and corporate information assets by analyzing information security threats.
3.Explain safe behaviors online by gaining awareness on safe internet use, social media and mobile device safety.
4.To be able to use the knowledge acquired on topics such as password security and social engineering effectively in daily life and professional fields.
5.Develops a conscious approach to cyber incidents by learning the history of cybercrimes and forensic informatics processes.
