Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles, and methods of scientific research. The course seeks to develop students’ skills in identifying research problems, conducting literature reviews, adhering to research ethics, applying academic writing standards, and critically evaluating scientific publications. By the end of the course, students are expected to acquire the knowledge and competencies required to prepare a scientific research report.

Course Content

This course covers the concepts of research and science, the development of scientific thinking, research ethics, and scientific research methods. Topics include literature review techniques, the effective use of academic databases, academic writing principles, and the preparation of research reports. In addition, students will learn how to read, analyze, and critically evaluate scientific publications and assess publication quality. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications aimed at improving students’ scientific writing and research reporting skills.

1.Explain the fundamental concepts, stages, and ethical principles of the scientific research process. .
2.Conduct literature reviews using appropriate academic databases relevant to a research topic.
3.Prepare the main sections of a research report in accordance with academic writing standards.
4.Evaluate scientific articles and research reports in terms of methodology, findings, and conclusions
5.Develop a research proposal or research report addressing a defined research problem.
