Objectives of the Course

The main objective of the course is teaching the students the content, illustration and physical properties of the children?s books, and revealing discussion of importance of a good book by presenting examples. It is aimed to gain the student theoretical and practical information about types and features of the children?s books, story choosing and preparing techniques at the end of the course.

Course Content

In the world of children's literature (world-renowned children's classics, English, French, German, American and children's literature in the Nordic countries), the development of children's literature in Turkey, in the world and in Turkey the history of children's books, The effect of children's books and children's books on the development of children aged 0-18 as a means of supporting development from infancy to adolescence, to be included in children's books features (external structure features; illustration , material used in the book, size, weight, cover and binding, letter feature, page layout, internal structure features: theme, subject, heroes, language and expression), reading books to children, reading interactive books, types of literature that can be used for children (stories, tales , nursery rhymes, finger games, riddles, poems, essays, novels), special topics in children's literature (children's rights, humor, art and aesthetics, differences, values, leadership, environment, child neglect and abuse), children's newspapers and magazines, children's libraries in Turkey, the importance of children's library, the properties of space, will be given to services, children's theater, children's films, TV series, commercials, tell the story Teaching techniques, parents suggestions, being a children's book author (writing books specific to age groups, etc.).
