Objectives of the Course

To learn basic concepts of creative drama; participate in creative drama practice; prepare developmental appropriate creative drama programs for children with normal development and children with special needs.

Course Content

Concepts related to drama (drama, creative drama, drama in education, psychodrama, sociodrama,-has not as dramatic games, role playing, improvisation, dramatization, creativity, communication), the historical development of drama in Turkey (period 1, 2. period, 3rd period), drama theories and theorists (Harriet Finlay-Johnson, Peter Slade, Brian Francis Way, Dorothy Heathcote, Gavin Bolton, Cecily O'Neil, Henry Caldwll, Winifred Louise, Richard Courtney), technical use in drama (technical purposes of use, points to be considered when using techniques, techniques used in drama), application stages in drama (warm-up-preparation activities, animation, evaluation), components of drama (drama leader, drama participants, drama environment), drama in special education (supporting life skills, supporting social skills, supporting language and communication skills, drama studies for children with special needs: mental, auditory, visual, physical, language and speech, children with learning difficulties drama studies in inclusion practices), effects of drama on child development (cognitive development, language development, social and emotional development, personality development, moral development, motor development), drama activities.
