Objectives of the Course

To comprehend the physiological basis and pathological consequences of inflammation and tissue healing processes; to develop a holistic perspective in the rehabilitation of various conditions.

Course Content

This course includes the topics of Causes and consequences of inflammation, Acute inflammation, Chronic inflammation, Inflammation processes and physiology of pain, Examples of inflammatory diseases and processes, Physiological approaches to acute and chronic injury, Tissue repair and fibrosis, Factors affecting the relevant tissue in the wound healing process, Phases of wound healing and physiological processes, Short and long term results of wound healing, Discussion of current literature.
