This course aims to develop first-year English Language Teaching students’ reading skills through critical engagement with different text types and genres. Students will read, analyze, discuss, and respond to a variety of texts, including narratives, recounts, opinion texts, news reports, academic texts, biographies, advertisements, digital texts, and literary extracts. The course focuses not only on comprehension but also on critical reading, genre awareness, interpretation, evaluation of ideas, and active participation in classroom tasks.
