Objectives of the Course

To combine demonstration gymnastic movements (with or without music) with the use of various materials, to contribute to the psychological and physiological development of individuals by gathering aesthetic, art and sports elements, to create choreographic presentations to be exhibited in special days and celebrations.

Course Content

What is demonstration gymnastics? Terminology of gymnastics. Why are such events needed? Are cultural differences effective in these activities and creations? Using visual resources, analyzing body movements and performances of professionals. Recognizing simple rhythms (2/4, ¾, 4/4), basic body movements (oscillations, circles, swings, contractions and relaxations, hops, bounces, jumps, turns, body waves, etc.). Grab bar (ballet) exercises. Locomotor and non-locomotor movements, improvisation techniques. Connections, stepping techniques, music, awareness raising in the use of space and space, rhythmic games and activities. Developing coordination, balance, skill and flexibility. Creative ways of thinking. Developing editing and choreography, movement awareness and imagination, emotional, presentation and expressive power. Using fixed or unstable objects. Working with spouse and group. Stage, lighting, clothing and make-up design. Practical applications in demonstration gymnastics.

Week 1 - Theoretical & Practice
What is demonstration gymnastics? Terminology of gymnastics, Why are such activities needed? Are cultural differences effective in these activities and creations? Utilizing visual resources and technology, analyzing body movements and performances of professionals
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Recognizing simple rhythms (2/4, ¾, 4/4), rhythm, music and use of space spatial awareness (planes, directions, trajectories, elevation levels, pace and speed of movement, ways of traveling),
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Basic body movements (oscillations, swings, circular movements, swings, contractions and relaxations, stretches, jumps, bounces, jumps, turns, body waves, etc.)
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Basic body movements (oscillations, swings, circular movements, swings, contractions and relaxations, stretches, jumps, bounces, jumps, turns, body waves, etc.)
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Developing coordination, balance and dexterity, flexibility, muscle strength, perceiving the speed and tempo of movement, understanding the functions of the body's joints, being able to make movement connections
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Basic ballet exercises (bar and floor), basic foot and arm positions and movements
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
Movement compositions and choreography, logical connections of movements, fluency, distribution of difficulties, elements of connection, technical aesthetic and emotional relationship with music, musical timing

Stage, lighting, clothing and make-up design studies and midterm evaluation

Creative thinking skills, creative movement and dance, movement awareness and imagination, emotional development and expression, creating harmony in the character of every movement.

Contemporary/modern dance techniques and practices
