Objectives of the Course

It explains all art movements from impressionism to the present within aesthetic-philosophical art theories and the sociological, scientific and art dynamics that create these movements.

Week 1 - Theoretical
What are Contemporary Art Theories and Movements? After the Classic, Original Approach - Mind - Nature - Impression (Romanticism-Realism Impressionism) Expression and Primitive - Abstraction and Empathy (Post Impressionism, Fauvism, Expressionism)
Week 2 - Theoretical
Modernism - Cubism - Order and Chaos (Cubism-Futurism-Suprematism). Structure and Function – Modernism Ideal – Abstract and Real (Constructivism), (Bauhaus, Neo Plasticism). The new definition of art and the artist (Dada and Marcel Duchamp). Dream and Surrealism (Metaphysical Painting, Surrealism). Reasons for the Contemporary Art Center's Shift from Paris to New York after 1940.
