Objectives of the Course

The course includes learning different definitions and forms of culture, understanding what theory is, and examining the leading cultural theorists and their teachings selected chronologically. The course consists of 2 consecutive semesters. 1.It is expected to know the key events in the history of thought regarding the modern and post-modern period.
2.It is desired to be able to comment on the effects of social and intellectual developments of the relevant period on cultural thought.
3.It is expected to know contemporary cultural theorists, thinkers and researchers.
4.It is desired to master the interpretations of cultural definitions and theories reached from different perspectives.
5.He/she must have knowledge about the connections between culture and society, culture and politics, culture and urban life, and culture and globalization.
