Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to comprehend the theoretical foundations of qualitative research methods and to gain practical skills in collecting, organizing, coding, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative data through computer-assisted analysis software. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to develop competencies in analyzing qualitative data sources such as interviews, observations, and documents in accordance with scientific research principles, generating themes, reporting findings, and evaluating validity and reliability processes in qualitative research.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental concepts of qualitative research methods, research designs, data collection techniques, and ethical principles. The course focuses on the practical coding, categorization, theme generation, and interpretation of qualitative data obtained through interviews, observations, and document analysis by using computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software. In addition, content analysis, descriptive analysis, validity and reliability procedures, and the reporting of research findings are discussed.
