Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to analyse the nature of popular movements and revolutions that have an important position in the transition to the nation state process.

Course Content

In accordance with the aim of the course, the principles of the republican regime established in America after the American Independence Struggle and Revolution are examined. After the relationship between the American Constitution and democracy, the nature of the revolutions led by the French Revolution, the English Revolution and other popular movements in the 19th century are discussed.

1.To educate individuals who have the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge in the discipline of politics and social sciences
2.To learn the historical and political events that shape political systems and to be able to understand and interpret current political systems
3.To be able to critically evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired in Political Science and Public Administration
4.To acquire an analytical knowledge about democracy and the recent past
5.To be able To benefit from other disciplines that form the basis of Political Science (International Relations, Law, Economics, Sociology, Philosophy, etc.) and to have a basic knowledge of these disciplines.
