Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to discuss the concepts, theoretical frameworks and policies of Money and Banking Theory in the context of Turkish Economy.

Course Content

The main objective of this course is to examine how financial markets work in general. Functions of financial institutions, monetary theory, the interaction between money supply and financial markets, the bond market and the structure of interest rates are some of the topics that will be covered. Students who take this course also will learn how to interpret financial news they hear from media.

1.The students will gain the ability to make analysis of the monetary developments in Turkish economy.
2.The students will be able to discuss and to monitor current economic issues such as inflation, disinflation.
3.The student will have knowledge about banking system, regulation of financial system and financial crises.
4.The students will be able to analyze the portfolio choice.
5.The students will have ability to monitor and to evaluate current interest rates and exchange rates volatilities.
