Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce the theories of adulthood and old age and the changes in the lifespan development approach in detail and with contemporary approaches.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, contemporary theories about adulthood and old age will be discussed. Examinations will be conducted from a lifespan developmental perspective, including the development of psychological problems of adults and the elderly and theoretical and methodological issues in the study of the elderly. Emphasis will be placed on subjective processes by discussing how the concepts of age and aging are evaluated in different periods of adulthood.

Learning Outcomes
1.By learning the theoretical foundational concepts in the field of psychology to understand the processes of adulthood and aging, they will recognize current issues and understand why these issues are important.
2.They will develop the skills to find, evaluate, and analyze current research on the processes of adulthood and aging in the field of developmental psychology.
3.They will gain the ability to carry out an applied project on the topic of adult psychology and effectively present the results.
4.By developing critical thinking skills on current developmental psychology topics, they will be open to understanding and discussing different perspectives.
5.They will combine the knowledge acquired with information from other fields and subfields.
