Objectives of the Course

To examine the approaches of Islamic schools of thought to the relationship between reason and transmission and the main determinants of their understanding of interpretation from different aspects, and to provide a foundation for graduate students who will study in the field of the history of Islamic thought by examining the works and views of prominent thinkers on this subject from a critical perspective.

Course Content

Schools of Islamic Thought in the Classical Period, Theologians' Approaches to the Reason-Transmission Relationship and Their Interpretation Methods, Sufis' Approaches to the Reason-Transmission Relationship and Their Interpretation Methods, Philosophers' Approaches to the Reason-Transmission Relationship and Their Interpretation Methods, Research-Analysis and Criticism.
