Objectives of the Course

To provide effective introductions to the discipline of philosophy, including studies in the philosophy of time; to develop students' ability to engage creatively with competing viewpoints and different perspectives.

Course Content

This course examines the concept of time from the perspectives of philosophy and the philosophy of religion. McTaggart's arguments, dynamic and static conceptions of time, and physical and historical views of time are discussed. The God-time relationship, eternal God, four-dimensionality, open theism, process philosophy, and the problem of free will are discussed.
