Objectives of the Course

The aim is to enable master's-level students to become thoroughly familiar with all active researchers in the field of religious education in Türkiye and the works they have contributed to the literature. Throughout the course, the objective is to enhance students' skills in critically analyzing and synthesizing current research trends, ongoing projects, and gaps in the literature, as well as in developing independent research proposals.

Course Content

This course focuses on the systematic and methodological examination of articles, graduate theses, books, conference papers, and national or international projects produced by religious education scholars and researchers across Turkey’s seven geographical regions. Conducted on a geographical basis—regardless of institutional affiliation or academic rank—this analysis aims to map the thematic trends, methodological paradigms, and academic profiles of religious education research in Türkiye.

Learning Outcomes
1.It systematically classifies the research areas and scientific publication outputs of religious education academics in Türkiye on a regional basis.
2.It comparatively analyzes the approaches to religious education, methodological choices, and academic orientations of research groups and academics across different geographical regions.
3.It critically evaluates the methodological framework, sample selection, and data analysis techniques of projects, graduate theses, and peer-reviewed articles conducted in the field of religious education.
4.It identifies original research areas in the field of religious education—whether overlooked or requiring further depth—by determining thematic concentrations within the existing literature.
5.Based on the regional academic outputs examined, the individual formulates an original and methodologically robust research problem that will contribute to the national literature in their own thesis or article work.

Marmara Region Examination of all academics and researchers active in the Marmara Region. Established schools of thought and research series.

Analysis of Academic Publications and Projects in the Central Anatolia Region Outputs of researchers and academics working in the field of religious education in the Central Anatolia Region. Studies on philosophical/theoretical religious education and curriculum development.
