There are a total of 16 academic staff in the department of chemistry, including 10 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 doctoral faculty member. Our department consists of five divisions: analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry and organic chemistry. The language of our programs is Turkish. There are research laboratories for each of the divisions, and there are sufficient research opportunities for master's and doctoral programs. Research groups in the divisions carry out various research projects independently and/or collaboratively. Aydın Adnan Menderes University Chemistry Department has a strong and experienced teaching staff in terms of education and is also above the average of Turkey in terms of the number of research and publications.

The department of chemistry was established in 1996 and received its first students in the 2000-2001 academic year. The department gave its first graduates in 2004.

Our Mission; To train qualified personnel for the industry, especially in the process of integration with the European Union, to train chemists in the fields of chemical science in the export and import of chemical products and foodstuffs, and to train chemists not only in the country but also in international platforms, who do not compromise on quality, and who do not compromise on quality. To have a staff and modern infrastructure and equipment, to train highly qualified and competitive students on every platform, and to place their graduates at the top of the most preferred group. In addition, in the field of chemistry, it is to focus on research issues related to the important problems of our country and the world, and to be a department that can be accredited by international accreditation institutions that contribute to national and universal development with the knowledge and technology it will provide in national and international environments.

Our vision; To carry out international creative research in various fields, to train highly qualified individuals for the future of the country, to present the knowledge in the fields of research and education for the benefit of the society, under the guidance of the education staff equipped with the knowledge, experience and infrastructure required by the 21st century. On the other hand, when the student exchange program between European Union member countries and Turkish universities is implemented, it is to become a national and internationally recognized and accepted chemistry department with the implementation of a more up-to-date curriculum in terms of quality and content.

The aim of the department of chemistry is to produce graduates who have basic theoretical and applied knowledge in their field, who can recognize and interpret the problems related to their field, who are open to lifelong learning and who can constantly renew their professional knowledge and skills.

There are 9 research laboratories and 1 instrument laboratory for scientific research in our department.

The equpments required for the studies of master's and doctoral thesis, some of them in research are available in the research laboratories of our department. In addition, the devices in Aydın Adnan Menderes University Science and Technology Research and Application Center are open to the use of the department staff.
