Objectives of the Course

This course aims to introduce analysis methods and principles related to soil physics. In addition, it is aimed to teach the students the requirements and usage areas of soil physics analysis and determination and evaluation of these analyzes.

Course Content

Determination of phase ratios in the soil, soil-water characteristics measurements, the amount of water held in the soil at different tensions from saturation to wilting point, possible soil-water characteristic calculation according to the Van-Genuchten modeling, determination of unsaturated hydraulic conductivity and infiltration, penetrometer measurements and evaluation to determine soil compaction, properties and use of tensiometers.
