Objectives of the Course

to teach the factors that affect the Hygiene and the quality of cow milk production and the methods to increase the quality

Course Content

Main problems of cattle production in the World and in Turkey, main dairy cattle breeds in the World, udder structure and lactation, milking management, factors affecting milk yield and milk quality, milk quality criteria, mastitis and protection from the mastitis, relationship between udder type traits with milk yield and mastitis and somatic cell count, genetics of mastitis and SCC and their usage in dairy cattle improvement programs

1.to be able to acquire basic knowledge about dairy and dual propose cattle breeds and gain sufficiency about definition of these breeds
2.to be able to gain the ability about milking management
3.to be able to gain sufficient knowledge and ability about factors affecting milk yield and milk quality and use this knowledge to increase milk quality,
4.to be able to gain sufficient knowledge and ability about mastitis and protection from it
5.to be able to acquire sufficient knowledge and ability about type traits and their association about milk quality
6.to be able to recognize the somatic cell count, as a milk quality criterion, detection, its association with herd management and mastitis
7.to be able to gain sufficient knowledge and ability about the genetics of mastitis and somatic cell count in dairy cattle improvement programs
