This course aims to teach students how to analyze video content used in educational research. In this course, students will gain experience to understand and apply theoretical theories and methods of video-based research. Ethical rules to be considered in video research will be discussed and practices will be made.
Within the scope of the course, students will have information about different theoretical theories and frameworks used in video research and learn different approaches. Gains knowledge of experimental research developed based on these different theories and approaches. Gains knowledge of the literature about video research and its use in student education and teacher education. Gains knowledge of different video analysis methods and technologies. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods can be used in the course. Gains knowledge and experience about the technologies and programs used for video analysis. At the end of the course, he / she conducts a small research using video data and reports.
