This course aims to teach graduate students the theoretical and practical dimensions of the STEM education approach, which is formed by bringing together and integrating the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, including engineering practices that have started to take place in primary school curriculum in recent years. In line with this goal, students will examine the theoretical and methodological backgrounds of educational research on STEM education in terms of research methods and results, and develop research proposals and implement them.
Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to inform students about the basics of STEM education, to help develop a critical perspective on STEM education research, to examine the place of STEM education in science and mathematics programs, and to help their research planning for STEM education.

| 1. | Students learn the emergence of STEM education and the theoretical approaches that form the basis of research in this direction through the scientific articles to be read in the course. |
| 2. | Students develop a critical perspective on field research by examining national and international research in the field of STEM education in terms of theoretical approaches, research methods and results. |
| 3. | Students can develop content suitable for STEM education by examining existing primary school science, primary school life sciences, primary school mathematics education curriculum in terms of STEM applications. |
