Objectives of the Course

The course aims to provide information on the main issues such as international refugee law, the foreigners and asylum law of Turkey, migration and refugee policies of the host countries. These issues enables the students to be employed in the General Directorate of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior, the High Commissioner of the United Nations or the research centers of the research centers.

Migration types, international refugee law, foreigners and asylum law of Turkey, immigration policies of states, migrant smuggling and socio-economic effects of migration

1.To have an awareness about the major debates in international migration studies
2.To evaluate the centrality of human mobility in global politics and to link the effects and consequences of this mobility to the policy responses to international migration.
3.Enable to establish link between states' migration policies and national interests
4.Enable to understand the structure of the international refugee law
5.To be able to learn migration policies of states
