Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to help students to analyse information, conceptions and researchs that are in expert knowledge level; to determine internal and external factors affecting mental health of people in all development periods and to gain skills on mental health prevention and promotion, care in diseases and rehabilitation.

1.To be able to discuss History of Psychiatric Nursing
2.To be able to discuss theorists and theories in psychiatric nursing
3.To be able to discuss schools and flows in psychiatry
4.To be able to Express system theories, developmental theories, learning theories.
5.To be able to use consultancy and help skills
6.To be able to evaluate a person with mental problem
7.To be able to count diagnose and treatment methods used in psychiatry
8.To be able to secure concord of patient to diseases and rehabilitation.
9.To be able to discuss crysis, cyrisis intervention and coping skills with stress
10.To be able to discuss effects of consultation liaison psychiatry practises in general health system
11.To be willing in reflecting ethical principles and concepts
12.To be able to apply preventive, formative and remedial mental health methods on people with such needs.
