Objectives of the Course

Teaching the principles of Thermal Turbo Machines and their applications to second cycle students.

Course Content

Detailed calculation and methods of optimization of turbomachinery, specifically turbopumps and reactional and impulsive turbines. Applications of subsonic and compressible flows and the similitude theories on turbomachinery.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Learning Outcomes
1.To apply the core concepts of compressible flow to turbomachinery of different types.
2..To study the principles of similitude with modern field applications of turbomachinery.
3.To improve subsonic and supersonic turbomachinery designs with optimization aspects.
4.To learn computational methods of calculation for turbomachinery.
5.To learn about the power and energy conversion systems featuring turbomachinery components.
