Objectives of the Course

Enabling the students to have knowledge of the main principles of Turkish foreign policy and main factors that affect foreign policy; and to evaluate Turkish foreign policy within the context of international relations theories.

Course Content

Basic principles of Turkish foreign policy, basic factors affecting Turkish foreign policy, basic problems of Turkish foreign policy, Turkey's relations with certain organizations and states.

1.To be able to comprehend the main principles of Turkish foreign policy and the main factors that affect foreign policy
2.To be able to evaluate Turkish foreign policy theoritecally
3.To be able to make a historical analysis of Turkey’s relations with certain states and organizations.
4.To be able to assess the external and internal factors that shape Turkish foreign policy
5.To gain an understanding of the main principles and the major issues in Turkish foreign policy starting from World War I until the end of the Cold War.
