Objectives of the Course

This course will examine the origins of the Russian state, and respectively focus on Kiew Russia, the Mongol period, the Russian Empire and the Soviet era with economic, political, social, religious and cultural focus of interest.

Course Content

This course aims to examine the historical development of the Russian Federation, which becomes Increasingly influential in world politics. In this context, this course is supposed to be helpful in terms of learning about the history of the Russian people and understanding the Russians.

1.To be able to idetify about the development of the Russian state.
2.To be able to describe about the historical development of Russian culture.
3.To be able to compare about the causes and consequences of the transition from the Tsarist Russia to the Soviet government.
4.To be able to have an objective attitude to the negative perception in Turkish public toward Russia during the Cold War.
5.To be able to interpret the major historical events of the pre-Soviet and Soviet Russian history
