Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to help the students to understand the importance of culture and identity in the IR discipline, and studying the impact of different cultural backgrounds of the states and leaders on foreign policy.

1.To be able to comprehend the importance of culture and identity in international relations.
2.To be able to compare different foreign policy behaviours of different states and leaders that have different cultural pasts.
3.To be able to analyze international relations not only in terms of material capacities but also its social dimension.
4.To be able to acknowledge the importance of norms in international system.
5.To be able to comprehend the relationship between culture and national security.
