To learn physiological effects of some naturally occurring endogenous substances in the body, the effects of drugs mimicking these functions, the effects of drugs that suppress these functions, the use of such drugs in treatment and to learn the side effects of these drugs
The endocrine glands secrete endogenous substances called hormones into the circulation, and hormones affect certain cells away from the endocrine gland and produce physiological and pharmacological effects. Hormones have a role in functions such as growth, development, reproduction, energy production and use and adaptation of the internal environment to the external environment. Various diseases occur due to disturbances in endocrine structures. With the various drugs used in the treatment of these diseases, the balance between internal and external environment is tried to be restored to normal.
| 1. | To understand the physiological effects of endogenous substances responsible for hormonal functions |
| 2. | To learn the mechanisms of drugs acting by mimicking these functions |
| 3. | To learn the effects of drugs that suppress endocrine functions |
| 4. | To have information about the use and side effects of these drugs in treatment |
