The purposes of this course are to educate and teach students the definition of urban open space, its history and typology, functions of urban open spaces, the characteristics of good urban open spaces, the factors which affect uses of urban open spaces, the legislations on urban open spaces, stakeholders in the planning and design of urban open spaces, urban open space guides, and the planning and design criteria and standards of urban open spaces
