Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is giving some information about planning and design of coastal areas by connected with drawing attention to the coastal areas where heavily used and scarce resources

Course Content

The importance of the coasts, a variety features of sea-lakes and rivers, coastal morphology, human activities along the coasts, coastal planning and coastal zone management, coastal planning - design studies in various countries, coastal planning-design studies in Turkey, coastal problems and possibilities of elimination are discussed in the course

1.Learning the importance of coasts, activities in coastal areas and coastal problems.
2.Learning the features of sea, lake and river shores
3.Ability to criticize coastal planning, design, management and practices in Turkey
4.Understanding the role and importance of the landscape architect in the planning, design and implementation stages of coastal areas.
5.Ability to follow and evaluate studies on coastal planning and design in various countries and monitor developments
