Objectives of the Course

Aim of urban space design and its content. Interaction between architectural space and urban space. Elements of urban space. Open, semi open space. Private, semi private and public space. Lost space. Urban design principles. Responsive environment. Analysis, and evaluation in urban space. Permeability. Variety. Legibility. Robustness. Visual Appropriateness. Richness. Personalisation. Putting it together.

Course Content

The evaluation of the theories and the practices on urban design and space design. Evaluation of contemporary approaches in urban design and design principles of urban space.
