Objectives of the Course

The Kingdom of Lydia, BC 1200 In 1150, after the collapse of the Hittite Empire, from the beginning of the Iron Age, it developed in the Gediz (Hermos) basin. According to the ancient sources, the Early Lydian Heraclits Period (1150-683) was the period of Mermanats Period (683-546). B.C. In 546, the Persian Empire occupied Lydia by the Persian Empire and the Kingdom of Lydia was terminated. In the course, archaeological excavations and researches in the area will be based on the studies and archaeological remains and finds belonging to these periods will be determined.

The historical geography, the social/cultural structures, the archaeological remains and artifacts of the Lydian region are studied.
