To introduce 'science of signs' (Semiotics) to the students and to help them gain basic knowledge of distinguished fields of application.
Basic concepts and principles of semiotics-which developed in the 20th century at a great pace- and distinguished fields of application.
| 1. | Students will gain the skills of reading, comprehension and interpretation of signs. |
| 2. | Students will know contemporary semiotics theories. |
| 3. | Students will learn the basic concepts of semiotics. |
| 4. | Students will know different practice areas of semiotics. |
| 5. | Will be able to evaluate the evolution of semiotics by establishing a connection between semiotics and other disciplines of social sciences and discuss semiotic applications in different fields. |
