The aim of this course is to study fundamental concepts and principles in various fields of linguistics which have to be taken into account regarding the analysis of language phenomena

| 1. | Recognize the theories concerning the structure of language and its functions, |
| 2. | Identify the phonological, morphological, syntactic and semantic levels in language |
| 3. | Compare structuralist and generativist approaches to linguistics, |
| 4. | When a student completes this course, he/she will recognize introduce mainly Chomsky, basic theory and theorists in 20th century linguistics. |
