Objectives of the Course

Using the methodology and research techniques of historical science, to gain the ability to make examination about the National Struggle period which constitutes an important phase of our Revolution History.

Course Content

After the First World War, which caused the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the National Struggle for the liberation of the country and the national sovereignty under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Pasha and the stages of the realization of the national independence are discussed. The process from the end of World War I to the signing of the Lausanne Treaty is included in the course.

1.	To have information about literature about the War of Independence, to be able to evaluate sources comparatively
2.	List basic concepts related to War of Independence and interpret these concepts comparatively
3.	To be able to explain the effects of the events during the War of Independence on the national and international context

5.	To be able to evaluate the place of Independence War in world history
