Objectives of the Course

How works the academic world? How to take up sociological thinking, imagination, writing and publishing in this world? What are the most fundamental issues or deficiencies in the area of the social sciences? With which problems are the students come up against when they step on for the first time in the academic world? Are the problems in relation to sociological thinking and writing arising just from the insufficiency of the students themselves? Principally, the issue of how to link the theory and social practice is a classical problem of social sciences. Hence, the one of the fundamental issue or deficienciy in social science is the absent of the linking the theory and practice strongly and efficiently. Firstly, social scientists have to be aware of the links between theory and practice in order for gaining the ability of linking the two in their works correctly. In this direction, social scientists must have a strong ability of sociological thinking, imagination and writing. However, sociological thinking, imagination and writing is a learning and application process spending long times. Thus, the aim of this lesson is to acquiring students how to think, imagine and write sociologically by means of linking theoritical knowledge and practical applications in sociology.

Course Content

This course aimed at contribute to the solution of the students problems in relation to the sociological thinking, imagination and writing that they faces. With this aspect, this course includes giving message to the students that the problems they faces while they imagining and writing are not the result of their personal weakness, poor work, talentless or personal defects that they think arises similar problems.

4.He can be aware of a sociological perspective and sociological phenomena and can describe daily events and phenomena from this perspective.
5.He can use the academic writing rules and standarts.
