Objectives of the Course

Current topics and debates will be carried out through selected areas: globalization, global sociological need, global economic crisis and its social implications, individualization, identity and politics, citizenship, social movements, change in the structure of industry, secular societies and globalization of religion, violence and terror. health, risk, and uncertainties of society, issues and discussions of current sociological perspective.

Course Content

The aim of this course is to examine the basic issues, concepts and approaches of sociology with a contemporary approach, as well as what sociology means in the 21st century, what difficulties it faces as a profession and discipline, and what opportunities it has in this new era. The aim of this course is to enable students to gain a higher level of sociological knowledge and experience while studying the current debates, research areas, trends and practices of sociology both locally and globally. The aim of the course is to enable students to use sociological concepts while analyzing and analyzing the social world.

4.To gain the ability to critically evaluate current debates and inquiries on Current Issues and Debates in Sociology.
