Objectives of the Course

To help students to look at the formation of law as a system from an anthropo-sociological point of view, to evaluate the importance of this point of view and the importance of law as a changing force based on scientific research ; to see law in its inseparability and integrity from social life.

Course Content

Examination of law from different viewpoints; necessity, subject, sections of sociology of law; law and change, law as a changing force: Turkish Legal Revolution; theoretical sociology of law and living law, law in the philosophical systems of leading thinkers; universality of legal thought; general view and research of the rule of law; ethics and law, development of sociology of law; structuralism and law;discussions of legal phenomena.

1.Explains the importance of ideal-oriented law for society.
2.Compares the similarities and differences of rules specific to different systems regulating social behavior.
3.Expresses the social and enforcement sources of law.

6.Establishes the relationship between rights and responsibilities
7.Values the view that social responsibilities must be fulfilled in order to protect rights.
