Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to put their econometrics knowledge into practice on real-world data sets. Students learn to formulate a research question, find and organize data suited to that question, select and apply the appropriate econometric method, and reach meaningful conclusions by interpreting their results. Each week, the course aims to develop students' analytical skills through a different data set and research question.

Course Content

Throughout the course, students work with real-world data sets from various fields (labor, health, education, housing, crime, macroeconomics, finance, environment, etc.). Each week a specific research question is addressed; the data are organized, an appropriate econometric model is built and estimated, and the results are critically interpreted. At the end of the course, students design their own research questions and carry out an independent applied analysis project, presenting their findings. In this way, students gain experience in applying econometric methods in practice, interpreting results, and making data-driven decisions.
