Objectives of the Course

This course is designed to examine the treatment of cancer, the effects of radiation, and the behavior of tumors using high-energy ionizing radiation. Cancer treatment requires a treatment approach consisting of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which requires the related disciplines to work together. Therefore, radiation oncology is an integral part of Basic Oncology.

Course Content

The effects of radiation on tissue organ and system level, tolerance doses, cellular effects of radiation, radiotherapy used in different types of cancer are covered in this course.
