Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide students with practical knowledge and skills in molecular and biochemical tests used for fungi and bacteria, culturing, isolation, inoculation, metabolite production, and fermentation technologies in microbial biotechnology, and to enable them to plan the studies they will carry out in their theses.

Course Content

Bacterial and fungal isolation, identification, storage, encapsulation, and metabolite production.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Learning Outcomes
1.Can take samples from the field and work in the laboratory with industrially important microorganisms.
2.Can carry out fermenter studies in the laboratory and proceed to metabolite production.
3.Knows the differences between bacteria and fungi.
4.Can store bacteria and fungi for long periods.
5.Can produce solutions to problems encountered in many biotechnological studies such as food and environmental applications.
