Objectives of the Course

In the course, In order to establish a security community after World War II, the importance of economic and political integration is analyzed.

Course Content

II. A detailed analysis of the European integration process, which started after World War II, is carried out. The integration history of the European Union is evaluated by introducing economic and political integration theories.

1.Understands the intellectual evolution of the idea of integration in Europe since the Middle Ages.
2.Examines the examples in the 19th century and learns how economic integration serves peace.
3.Learns theories of economic integration and compares them with other examples in the world.
4.Learns the theories of political integration in Europe and assesses the level of overlapping of these theories with historical reality.
5.Will be able to analyze the security and identity dimensions of the EU integration process
