Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide a historical analysis of the Turkey´s foreign policy since the establishment the Republic, to examine Turkish foreign policy since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey in a period of historical study and to investigate internal and external dynamics affecting Turkish foreign policy and the process of formation and implementation of Turkish foreign policy.

Course Content

Global politics, especially with the end of the Cold War, has undergone a very rapid transformation and Turkish Foreign Policy has been affected by both the global transformation and the internal political transformations. This course aims to understand the evolution of Turkish Foreign Policy from the early Republican era to the present, and to understand the global, regional and internal policy interaction and dynamics.
